What is Required?
Your radio station broadcast equipment will consist of a desk top computer (or Notebook), a small 1-Watt transmitter about the size of a DVD player, and a small antenna. Depending on the physical characteristics of your resort, the antenna can often be set on the desk with your PC. If your property encompasses a large area, or you want broader coverage, you may want to install the antenna on the roof of a building or a free standing pole attached to a building. With such a configuration, the radio signal will reach approximately two standard city blocks in every direction.
Programming and Operation
Your on-air radio station is operated by a sophisticated broadcast software program that does all the work for you. After Lost Planet Media programs the software to meet your broadcast requirements, there is little else you ever have to do to keep the station up and running 24/7. You will have the option of changing, removing or adding new programs (like songs and announcements) at any time, and with a microphone and mixing console, you can perform live shows on-the-air. Imagine broadcasting a morning talk show where your resort visitors are the guests. Or broadcast that Saturday night dance live over your in-park radio station. Maybe you want to offer aerobics classes or resort garage sales over the radio. The sky is the limit with your own radio station!
At the time of installation, we'll ask you what you wouild like programmed into your station. If you opt for standard music programming, Lost Planet Media can pre-install a song list into your software to your liking, along with a series of promotional "liners" that identify your station between songs. We can even teach you how to update weather reports using your new software, giving you that sophisticated feel of a real broadcast station.
Applications
You are only limited by your imagination when it comes to how you can use your new radio station. The primary benefit, of course, is the ability of your resort visitors to be able to listen to your radio station in their RVs. You can present music programs (like a jukebox), specialty programs (home & garden shows, how-tos, travelougues, talk shows, news programs, radio dramas, worhsip services, etc.), promotional announcements about upcoming special events, your restaurant or gift shop. You could even partner with other businesses in your community for advertising their establishments over your radio station, adding a small revenue stream to your operation.
Technical Support & Training
At Lost Planet Media, we'll never leave you hanging with technical or programming support questions. We are available the first 30 days to provide unlimited phone support as questions arise. And we won't leave the system with you without training your staff on the easy operation of the system.
If you're not into managing your own station, Lost Planet Media will provide programming management and support for a small monthly fee. The fee will be determined, of course, on the complexity of your program(s), but in most instances can be kept to a minimum.

While it's impossible to give you a firm price quote for your system until we can determine what all you need to make your radio station the perfect broadcast station for your application, our experience is that, in general terms, all the equipment and programming you need to get started will cost you in a range of $3,400 - $4,500 turn key.
